The agreement of the ECA-ITEC to
co-host the TIA-B
allowed all technical aspects of infrastructure (copper, optical
fibre and electrical) to be supported.
The decision of CMA to become involved
provided the final piece of the jigsaw enabling users to both benefit
from and directly influence the TIA-B
activities.
TIA-B
was not intended to replace all the activities offered by CITA.
The specific areas of activity addressed by TIA-B
are those that were covered by the following CITA SIGs: SIG/2/1 Commercial Building
Networks Infrastructure
SIG/2/2 Residential
Buildings Networks Infrastructure SIG/2/3 Public Networks
Infrastructure
SIG/2/4 Wireless Networks
Infrastructure SIG/8 Consultancy
Services Advisory Group (Consultancy
Firms, Law Firms and Advisors)
TIA-B
has replaced the Special Interest Group (SIG) system
operated by CITA in favour of a fast reaction Project Team approach.
